Hello! I became a part of the PTO last year when I chaired the Fun Fair. I’m looking forward to working with the PTO to continue to build strong school-community connections and encourage the many wonderful aspects of the Chavez community. My husband, Carlos, and I have one daughter, Penny (DLI 1st Grade) and one dog, Daria (lab/border collie mix). As a family, we enjoy travelling and working on our butterfly and vegetable gardens. I’m a technical writer at Epic and in my free time I’m the president of my neighborhood association and one of the leaders of the Madison chapter of Box of Balloons. I’m looking forward to getting to know you!
My husband Philip and I have 2 kids at Chávez - Jonathan who will be in 3rd grade for the 2019-20 school year and Abby who will be in 1st grade DLI. I got involved with the PTO because I wanted to help make our big school feel a little bit smaller. When I'm not wrangling my children or numbers for the PTO you might find me working as a pharmacist at the VA or riding my bike. I recently decided to start racing cyclocross which is a lot of fun.
I'm Heather, mom to 4 boys, twins in 2nd grade, a Kindergartener, and a 1-year old. When not breaking up fights, cleaning up pee, or listening to Pokémon dissertations, I loves to take photos, go to the movies, and watch TV while folding bottomless baskets of laundry. Last year, I organized the book fair, and this year, I am excited to also coordinate the restaurant night fundraisers.

Hello! My name is Jamie Krohn. I am the teacher representative for our PTO. I have been a member of our Chavez Community for 19 years. I have enjoyed teaching Kindergarten and First Grade. This year my role at Chavez will be teaching and working with our wonderful First Grade families.
I am also a Chavez parent. My son Cameron who is 12 went to Chavez and Connor is a current 4th Grader. When I am not teaching I am busy cheering Cameron and Connor on the fields or in the pool. I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison and enjoy cheering on our Wisconsin Badgers whenever I get the chance.
My goal this year is to help build strong relationships within our Chavez community. I want to help organize and facilitate events that are inclusive to all of our families as well as help continue the amazing growth of our Chavez scholars. I look forward to help bridge the communication and relationships between our staff and parent community.
